Lorraine and I had our beautiful granddaughter for three days this past weekend. Making time for family is so important to me. Watching and spending time with Lila reminds me of how important it is to preserve the character and quality of life that we so much cherish and enjoy here in Rockland.
Even during the weekend, I spent time completing and filing necessary forms for the NYS Board of Elections.
What was refreshing this past week was being approached by people (whether at the the library, church, meetings, or on the street) who recognized me and expressed their full support for my campaign. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to everyone's concerns and ideas.
Recently, for the safety of all of our students, I called for reforms to the Fire Safety Inspection procedures demanding that private schools be held to the same strict standards that public schools are held to. Additionally, I commented regarding my concerns of traffic congestion involving the 600 unit housing development proposed for the former drive-in movie theater complex in Monsey.
As the days and weeks continue, I will be publishing my platform regarding issues. I do believe this is a critical time for enacting positive change. The future of our state and our communities depends on what we do now.
If you would have any questions, or would like to get more involved in the campaign, you can do so by contacting me here.
